| Size limit | Starts at 100 KB; change it under Mode → Target file size |
| Privacy | Your name is never saved or sent anywhere |
Not every exam asks for a name and date on the photo. Check what your own notification requires.
How to add a name and date to your photo
- Type your name in the Name box, exactly as it appears in your application.
- Set the date the photo was taken. It starts as today’s date; pick the format your notice shows.
- Choose your photo, then set the file size and dimensions your form wants (type a limit, or pick an exam in Fit for…).
- Download. The strip is part of the final size, so a 200×230 px request still comes out exactly 200×230 px.
Writing the name and the date
Use the same spelling, order and spacing as your application form, because a mismatch is an easy reason for a reviewer to reject the photo. If the full name is too long to print clearly, the tool tells you instead of shrinking it to an unreadable size; use initials for middle names. For the date, use the day the photograph was actually taken. Notices often want a recent photo, so an old date can cause trouble. Choose DD/MM/YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY or DD.MM.YYYY to match your notice.
Common problems
- Face too low in the frame. The strip sits under the photo, so frame your face in the upper part, or drag the crop box so the chin is well above the strip.
- Blurry text. With a very small file limit, the text can soften. Raise the size limit, increase the strip height, or shorten the name.
- Wrong date format. Match the pattern in your notification exactly.
Frequently asked questions
Does every exam need the name and date on the photo?
No. Only some notifications ask for it, and the rules differ. This site does not switch the strip on automatically for any exam, so turn it on only if your notice requires it.
Is my name saved or sent to a server?
No. The text is drawn on the photo in your browser and is not stored in cookies, local storage or the page address.
What happens if my name is too long?
If the text would have to be smaller than about 9 pixels, the tool says the name is too long to print clearly and asks you to use initials.
Can I make the strip taller or shorter?
Yes. The strip height slider goes from 12% to 25% of the photo height, starting at 18%.
