Four uploads, four settings

IBPS asks you to upload a photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration, and the system will not let you move on until each one meets its specification. Each has different limits, so use the checklist above: tapping an item loads its preset, and a tick appears after you download it. Switching presets mid-way is the most common reason a portal rejects a file.

Photo and signature

The photo should be in colour against a light-coloured, preferably white, background; the tool cuts it to the preferred 200×230 px shape from the centre, so crop your face into the middle first (or drag the crop box). For the signature, sign on white paper with a black ink pen, not in capital letters, and crop tightly so the 140×60 px result is not mostly empty paper.

Left thumb impression

Press your left thumb on white paper with black or blue ink, let it dry, and photograph it straight-on in daylight. A smudged or half-printed thumb is worse than a small file. The preferred size is 240×240 px, which is 3 cm by 3 cm at 200 DPI. If you have no left thumb the guidelines allow the right thumb, and give rules for using another finger or toe, in which case you must name it in the uploaded document.

Handwritten declaration

Write the declaration yourself, in English, clearly, in black ink on white paper. It must be your own handwriting and not in capital letters, otherwise the application can be treated as invalid. The text given in the guidelines is: “I, ______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.” Photograph the page with the lines filling the frame; the preferred size is 800×400 px (10 cm × 5 cm at 200 DPI), kept between 50 and 100 KB.

Which cycle is this?

The figures come from the IBPS guidelines for the CRP PO/MT-XV and Clerk (July 2025) recruitment, which agree with each other. IBPS can change them, so compare with the notification for the cycle you are applying to.

Frequently asked questions

What is the IBPS photo size in KB and pixels?

The guidelines we checked ask for a JPG/JPEG of 20–50 KB, preferably 200×230 pixels (4.5 cm × 3.5 cm).

What is the IBPS signature size?

A JPG/JPEG of 10–20 KB, preferably 140×60 pixels, signed in black ink on white paper and not in capital letters.

What size should the IBPS left thumb impression be?

A JPG/JPEG of 20–50 KB, preferably 240×240 pixels (3 cm × 3 cm at 200 DPI), made with black or blue ink on white paper.

What size is the IBPS handwritten declaration, and can I type it?

It is a JPG/JPEG of 50–100 KB, preferably 800×400 pixels, written by you in English with black ink and not in capital letters. IBPS makes an exception only for candidates who cannot write.

The portal says my file is too large even though the tool said it fits. Why?

Check that you uploaded the new JPG and not the original, and that you picked the preset for that upload. This tool counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, which is safe for portals that count 1,024.
