How to resize your SSC signature
- Sign clearly on plain white paper with a dark pen, and photograph or scan it in good light.
- Tap Choose photo and select the image. The “Fit for…” box already shows SSC CGL — Signature.
- Wait for the green “Meets: 10–20 KB” message and download the JPG.
Crop tightly around the signature first if your scan has a wide margin: more of the 10–20 KB goes into the ink instead of empty paper.
What about the SSC photo?
For the CGL 2026 notice, SSC says the candidate does not upload a photograph: the application module captures one with your webcam or phone camera while you fill the form (paragraph 9.4). The notice suggests a place with good light and a plain background. So there is no SSC photo size to match for that exam. Other SSC exams (CHSL, MTS and so on) may have different rules, so read the notice for the exam you are applying to.
Check the dimensions in your notice
The CGL 2026 notice gives the signature size as about 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm in paragraph 9.6 but 4.0 cm × 2.0 cm in Annexure-IV. Only the file size, 10–20 KB, is consistent, which is why this preset sets the file size and leaves the dimensions alone. If you want to set a size, open Exact dimensions, choose cm, and enter the numbers from your own notice.
Frequently asked questions
What is the SSC signature size in KB?
The SSC CGL 2026 notice asks for a JPEG/JPG signature between 10 KB and 20 KB. The source link is in the requirements box above.
Why does the SSC notice show two different signature sizes?
The same notice lists about 6.0 × 2.0 cm in the main text and 4.0 × 2.0 cm in Annexure-IV. Follow the instruction on the application screen, and use the exact-dimensions field if you need a specific size.
Do I need to upload a photo for SSC CGL?
For CGL 2026 the photo is captured live during the application, so you do not upload one. Confirm this in the notice for your exam.
My signature scan is a PDF or very large. Can I use it?
Take a picture or export an image of it first, then choose that image. The tool accepts any image your browser can open and outputs a JPG.
